The small farm shop

In the farm shop you can buy the famous raspberries (“Juv-bringebærene»), the jam (“Juv-sylta «) and the cordial juice (“Juv-saften”) from Juv. You can purchase a jar of the tasty jam and enjoy it on a piece of bread during your stay at Juv and bring one home as a souvenir. The products from Juv make lovely gifts for friends and acquaintances. The local products from Juv are “ferdaminne” – souvenirs to bring home at the end of the journey.

The jam

The jam from Juv is made from the exciting combination of raspberries from Juv and the old apples varieties Djuvsteiner og Bramleys Seedling.

Djuvsteiner, nowadays called Juv-apples, originally came from the farm Djuvstein at Hopland. The homesteaders who came from Hopland to Juv around 1850 brought three apple trees with them to the farm. Bramley’s Seedling is a culinary apple and comes from England. They are picked just before the first frosty night, stored in apple boxes and become yellow and ripe around Easter time. Then the apple sauce that is included in the jam is made.

The old apple varieties retain their powerful and tasty aroma even if the apples are boiled or fried. Therefore, the jam from Juv is very special and in demand all over the country.

The raspberry squash

The cordial juice is made from raspberries at Juv mixed with redcurrants picked in gardens in Nordfjord. This is a sweet and tasty farm juice. The taste of the mild raspberries combined with the sharp redcurrants is a special treat that in the past was saved and served during weekends and holidays. It tastes just as good served with Saturday porridge or as a sauce on rice cream on Christmas Eve and is well suited as an alcohol-free beverage alternative with a good dinner.

The cordial juice is made from Juv raspberries in combination with redcurrants.

Canned raspberries

The canned raspberries from Juv are a rare craft, made after a recipe from Hennebygda in Nordfjord.

This is a dessert that is served straight from the glass and tastes great with whipped cream or ice cream.

Canned raspberries are recommended as a refreshment after a good seafood meal or after a tasty deer steak dinner, and even better as a Christmas dessert with its perfect red colour.

Dessert berries

The dessert berries are the biggest and tastiest raspberries at Juv – in their natural state. They have a fresh flavor, and you can almost taste the pride and joy with which they have been grown.

Dessert berries are delivered in a 300 g basket with a lid, in trays with 12 baskets or individually.

Jam from Juv made from raspberries and the old apple varieties. There are only three Djuvsteiner apple trees left in the whole country, and they are all at Juvsøyna at Juv.

That is why they are now called Juv apples.

Grocery stores and retailers

In addition to the farm shop at Juv, some of the local products from Juv can be bought at the well-known local food outlets BakarJon in Byrkjelo and Smak in Lom, as well as retailers such as Coop grocery stores in Nordfjord, Sunnfjord and Sunnmøre. Sande Camping in Lodalen also carries Juv products during the summer season.
